EdenTree Investment Management has strengthened its global equity capabilities with the appointment of David Osfield (pictured).

Working alongside chief investment officer Robin Hepworth, Osfield will co-manage the group’s EdenTree Amity International Fund.

Osfield, who joined EdenTree in July 2016, began his career at Alliance Trust in 2002 and has held a range of responsibilities across global equity portfolios over his 14-year career.

Osfield was an investment manager in Alliance Trust’s global equity team for the past four years, focusing on the group’s GBP3 billion global equity investment trust and its global Sustainable Futures portfolios and providing idea generation across the Asian region. Prior to this, Osfield’s responsibilities included management of Alliance Trust’s UK and pan-European holdings.

Sue Round, director of group investments at EdenTree Investment Management, believes Osfield’s appointment is another milestone in the firm’s development.

“We are delighted to announce the appointment of David to the team. He brings a deep well of investment management experience and unique insight to the team, strengthening our global equities proposition,” she says. “His appointment comes as we continue to develop and enhance our expertise across the breadth of EdenTree’s products and solutions. David’s appointment is another step in this evolution.”

Osfield says: “I share EdenTree’s long-term approach and bottom-up investment philosophy. The Amity International Fund has a long and successful track record since launch and I look forward to working with Robin and the rest of the team.”
