BNP Paribas Investment Partners appoints business development head

BNP Paribas Investment Partners has appointed Claus Hecher as head of business development for Germany, Austria and the German-speaking regions of Switzerland, as the company looks to strengthen its indexed fund and exchange-traded fund (ETF) business in Europe.

Hecher takes up his new role on 1 September and will report to Isabelle Bourcier, who joined BNP Paribas Investment Partners in June as head of ETF and indexed fund activities.
Based in Munich, he will be responsible for developing BNP Paribas Easy, BNP Paribas Investment Partners’ ETF and indexed solutions franchise, with German-speaking investors, institutions and distribution networks.
Bourcier says: “We are very pleased to welcome Claus Hecher to BNP Paribas Investment Partners.  His extensive experience of the asset management industry, combined with his excellent knowledge of German-speaking markets, will be a considerable asset in the development of BNP Paribas Easy among investors in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland. In his new role he will be responsible for expanding the distribution of our existing indexed fund and ETF ranges, as well as supporting the development of our new smart beta ETFs in these three markets.”
