Peer Funding, a newly FCA authorised peer to peer business lending platform, has appointed Gill Fielding as non-executive chairperson.
Fielding, a Chartered Accountant, is a public speaker on macro-economic affairs, wealth creation, financial education, property and investing skills.
Aside from taking part in Channel 4’s Secret Millionaire, Fielding makes frequent appearances as a financial commentator for the BBC, ITV and CNBC channels and is currently a financial expert for a regular phone-in show on BBC radio.
Malcolm Piper, managing director, says: “Gill comes from a background of significant achievement and success; she has a unique skill set and extensive experience to help shape this exciting new peer to peer business lending platform. Gill’s appointment adds a new dynamic layer to an already solid board and I’m delighted that she’s joined Peer Funding Limited.”
Fielding says: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining the board of Peer Funding Limited at a time when peer funding and crowd funding is about to take off, and potentially replace, the funding provided by the traditional banks, particularly for small and medium sized businesses. Overall, peer funding is a more dynamic, collaborative and entrepreneurial financing model that is more relevant in today’s – and tomorrow’s – business world and Peer Funding Limited is perfectly poised to play a major part in that future.”
