Payne Hicks Beach strengthens private client department

London law firm Payne Hicks Beach has appointed Judith Powell as a consultant in the firm’s private client department.

Powell joins from King & Wood Mallesons, having previously been a partner at one of its predecessor firms, S J Berwin.
 
Her appointment is effective from 23 August 2016.
 
Powell’s practice encompasses personal tax advice and she specialises in instructions on matters arising as a consequence of foreign domicile and investment. She has extensive experience of advising ultra-high net worth individuals and various trusts and estates. 
 
Additionally, Powell is a part-time judge at the First Tier Tribunal Tax Chamber and a deputy judge at the Upper Tribunal Tax Chamber.
 
Payne Hicks Beach’s private client department has a wide-ranging client base of domestic and international high net worth individuals, trusts, estates and family businesses.
