UBS Asset Management has announced it has over USD1 billion in assets under management in its SRI ETF range.
Andrew Walsh, (pictured) Head of UBS ETF Sales UK & Ireland, says: “Reaching this milestone shows that investors are recognising the importance of sustainability and are keen to use the opportunities offered by UBS SRI ETFs in their investment portfolio”.
"The unique range of UBS SRI ETF’s offers investors the possibility to form a sustainable worldwide portfolio in an efficient way", says Thomas Merz, Head of UBS ETF Europe. The composition of the underlying benchmark is achieved by a combination of environment, social and governance ratings, screening for controversial activities and an exclusion policy.
Earlier this year, UBS Asset Management published a research paper which tested whether the SRI screening process adds value to an investor's portfolio. The bank says that they found that return differences between SRI screened and conventional portfolios are not statistically significant but that investors can expect higher risk-adjusted return levels.
November sees Michael Baldinger join the firm as Head of Sustainable and Impact Investing.
