Wealth and asset management consultancy Alpha FMC has strengthened its wealth management practice with the appointment of Kenn Taylor as director to lead the UK consulting team.

Taylor was previously partner in the financial services advisory practice at Grant Thornton where he led the investment management business consulting team.

Alpha provides services to wealth management clients across Europe and the continued growth of the sector has led to the expansion of the practice and recruitment of further senior expertise.

Taylor has over 20 years’ experience advising clients on changes to the retail distribution and retirement landscape. He has led consulting teams at Grant Thornton, Navigant and Troika in the Retail Investment, Retirement and Wealth markets, and conducted critical assignments for the leading UK wealth and asset managers, as well as retail and workplace platforms. His experience covers business and markets strategy, particularly proposition development, platform assessment and selection, operating models, business case development and deal negotiations.

Alpha FMC global CEO Euan Fraser says: “Our wealth practice has been expanding steadily over the past few years and the appointment of Kenn will only accelerate this growth. Our strong experience across all aspects of the investment value chain is increasingly in demand with Wealth Managers and this hire reflects our commitment to the sector.”

Taylor says: “Wealth management businesses are on the front foot when it comes to adopting new strategies and innovative technology to respond to increasingly complex needs of customers, advisers and regulators. I know from experience that wealth management businesses value the dedicated sector support which Alpha provides and I am looking forward to working with the team to help our clients address their opportunities and challenges.’’
