Foundation Source, a provider of management and advisory services for private foundations, has appointed Hugh S. Asher as managing director of the southern region.
Asher will be responsible for building the brand and growing Foundation Source’s business in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
He reports to Joseph Fuschillo, Foundation Source’s chief distribution officer, and will partner with Kimberly Scott, senior director of client services, in establishing a Foundation Source office in the Buckhead section of Atlanta.
“Hugh has a long history of building success at the point-of-sale with private wealth advisors, ultra-high-net-worth families, endowments, foundations and boards of directors,” says CEO Susan Friedlander Calzone (pictured). “His deep roots and network throughout the Southern region bring tremendous value to the continued growth of our business.”
With nearly 20 years of experience across multiple aspects of the financial services industry focused on investment advising and portfolio management services, Asher has a track record of building relationships with centres-of-influence and their ultra-high-net-worth clientele.
“Hugh brings a valuable history of teaching investment education seminars as well as teaching presentation skills workshops to executives from firms of all types including lawyers, financial advisors, banks, construction companies, government workers and Fortune 500 companies,” says Fuschillo. “Those skills are important to our own team and to our network of professionals, who advise clients on investments and philanthropic choices.”
Prior to joining Foundation Source, Asher was managing director at boutique investment management firm Cedar Capital, where he had business development responsibilities across the southeast.
Prior to that, he was regional director for Morgan Stanley’s consulting group where he was responsible for the firm’s advisory sales in the southeast region collaborating successfully with the private wealth advisers.
He spent six years with Smith Barney and Citigroup Global Markets as divisional and regional director for the firm’s different investment and product platforms and has held financial adviser positions at Capital Guardian Trust Company and Salomon Smith Barney.
