Mike Regan has been appointed as the new finance director of Coutts and has joined the bank’s board.

Regan qualified with PwC in 2003 as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS).

He subsequently gained extensive experience across both practice and the financial services industry in roles across London and Asia Pacific.

He joined RBS Global Banking and Markets (GBM) in 2010 and over the next four years carried out a variety of roles in markets and international banking, including head of business risk and control for EMEA banking, head of regulatory developments and head of strategy for international banking. In 2014 Regan returned to finance, supporting the transition of the newly appointed finance director to commercial and private banking, before leading the finance team on cost and capital management for the franchise.

Regan says: “It is a huge privilege to be appointed finance director for Coutts. I look forward to working with my colleagues on the board as we continue to serve our clients with a focus on exceptional private banking, wealth management and lending.”

Lord Waldegrave of North Hill, Coutts chairman, says: “I am delighted to welcome Mike to the Coutts family as our finance director and newest member of the board. He brings with him extensive experience from a wide number of roles both here in the UK and abroad. I look forward to drawing on that expertise, which will be essential to maintaining Coutts as the UK’s best private bank.”

Regan also serves as finance director and board member of Adam & Company.
