Global X Funds adds three regional directors to distribution team

Exchange traded fund provider Global X Management has appointed three regional directors – Kize Behrends, Devan O'Dowd, and John Stec.

Behrends, who is joining from Deutsche Bank, will serve as Global X's regional director in the Midwest Region.
O'Dowd, who comes from Cedar Capital, will be responsible for client relations and distribution in the Pacific Southwest.
Stec, who is joining from Accuvest Global Advisors, will be responsible for distribution across all channels in the Pacific Northwest.
All three will report directly to Brian Diessner, Global X's head of sales.
"We are thrilled to have Kize, John and Devan as part of the Global X team. They each have a proven track record of bringing consultative value to financial advisors and they will be a great asset as we continue to grow the team to support the demand for our expanding suite of ETF solutions," says Bruno del Ama, CEO of Global X Funds. "In 2017, we plan to continue to hire top distribution talent to have full national coverage to support Global X's growth."
Behrends was the first ETF regional vice president at Deutsche Bank. This appointment marked the beginning of Deutsche Bank's US distribution efforts, and he was instrumental in building its passive investment platform.
Kize spent eight years at Deutsche Bank and was recognised as the ETF regional vice president of the year.
O'Dowd joins Global X from Cedar Capital, an ETF strategist and liquid alternative provider, where he was a director and product specialist, responsible for distribution efforts on the West Coast. O'Dowd began his career as part of the advisor sales team in the development programme at Morningstar, the Chicago-based investment research firm.
Stec was most recently executive vice president at Accuvest Global Advisors, where he led the firm's US sales and marketing efforts. Stec started his career in finance as an internal wholesaler for First Trust Portfolios, where he was recognised as internal wholesaler of the year. Following the award, he was promoted to external wholesaler, covering Northern California.
