JP Morgan has appointed Oliver Gregson as head of the private bank’s UK and Nordic markets.

Based in London, Gregson will oversee the firm’s UK and Nordic wealth management operations and drive its overall strategy and growth.

Gregson will report to Pablo Garnica, CEO of JP Morgan Private Bank’s Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) region.

Garnica says: “We are pleased to welcome Olly to JP Morgan to lead one of our most important markets within the EMEA region. His experience in the UK market, client advisory expertise and passion for global markets make him the perfect person to lead this team.”

Gregson adds: “JP Morgan Private Bank has a phenomenal heritage in the UK with the origins of the organisation in London dating back to 1838 and a history of providing world-class advice and services from the U.K. to clients worldwide. While the industry faces ongoing challenges, this presence and position within the wealth management industry affords us a great opportunity to continue growing. Our outlook is positive and we have ambitious plans to match our confidence. I look forward to building upon the fantastic franchise we have today.”

Prior to this role, Gregson was head of HSBC’s private bank investment group leading the investment counselling, portfolio management, sales and trading and wealth advisory teams. Before that he managed sales, product and discretionary investments at Barclays Wealth and held leadership positions at UBS Wealth Management and Citigroup Private Bank.
