Advisors Asset Management (AAM) has appointed Charles Sickles as managing director and head of wholesale distribution.

Based in Princeton, New Jersey, Sickles will lead AAM's distribution efforts across all of its partner firms and will report directly to Andrew S Williams, president of AAM.

"Charles is the perfect fit to take AAM to the next level," says Williams. "His significant experience and leadership acumen aligns with our core values and complements our firm's long-term commitment to meet the evolving needs of financial advisers in a consultative way. Our clients and firm will benefit from his first-hand understanding of the unique needs of advisers.

"Charles's impressive track record for building successful businesses and sales teams within the fee-based advisory, active mutual fund, ETF, managed accounts and alternative investments spaces makes him the optimal choice as we continue to work with advisers to help them attain the very best long-term solutions for their clients in all market environments. He understands where we want to go and how we want to grow our business."

Sickles says: “AAM is extremely well-positioned to help financial advisors and their clients achieve their outcomes through a wide range of focused, high-quality investment solutions, including strategies offered by best-of-breed institutional managers. The firm has carved a distinctive niche for itself in the asset management industry, backed by a tremendous leadership team, and I am very excited about the opportunity to build on this strong foundation."
