European ETFs reach USD620 billion

ETF data provider ETFGI reports that assets invested in ETFs/ETPs listed in Europe reached a new record high of USD620 billion at the end February 2017 surpassing the prior record of USD599 billion set at the end of January 2017.

ETFs/ETPs listed in Europe gathered USD12.40 billion of net new assets in February marking the 30th consecutive month of net inflows.
At the end of February 2017, the European ETF/ETP industry had 2,233 ETFs/ETPs, with 7,025 listings, assets of USD620 billion, from 58 providers listed on 25 exchanges in 21 countries.

Year to date, net inflows to European ETFs stand at USD24.01 billion, a record YTD level. At this point last year there were net inflows of USD5.85 billion.
Equity ETFs/ETPs gathered net inflows of USD7.13 billion in February, bringing year to date net inflows to USD14.60 billion a record YTD level, which is greater than the net outflows of USD1.39 billion over the same period last year.

Fixed income ETFs and ETPs experienced net inflows of USD2.55 billion in February, growing year to date net inflows to USD4.83 billion, which is greater than the same period last year which saw net inflows of USD3.01 billion.

Commodity ETFs/ETPs accumulated net inflows of USD1.97 billion in February. Year to date, net inflows are at USD3.38 billion compared to net inflows of USD3.39 billion over the same period last year.

iShares gathered the largest net ETF/ETP inflows in February with USD3.89 billion, followed by Lyxor AM with USD2.56 billion and Amundi ETF with USD1.68 billion net inflows.

YTD, iShares gathered the largest net ETF/ETP inflows with USD7.19 billion, followed by Lyxor AM with USD3.71 billion and Amundi ETF with USD2.40 billion net inflows.
