iM Global Partner launches European distribution of funds

RELATED TOPICS

iM Global Partner, the asset manager and multi-boutique distribution platform of iM Square Group, has launched the distribution of its first funds across Europe.

iM Global Partner’s fund portfolio will be supported on the expertise managed by iM Square’s portfolio companies and also benefits from the provisions for the delegation of fund management provided by the Frog working group. The management company also has a leading operational infrastructure in using Amundi Services’ portfolio management system.

The five-person team based in Paris aims to raise EUR1 billion within three years in France and in neighbouring countries from institutional investors, fund selectors, private banks and distribution platforms. The Parisian team will also rely on London-based experts from iM Square, especially with the support of its “product specialists”.

Julien Froger (pictured), Commercial Director of iM Global Partner, says: “Investors are increasingly looking for innovative investment solutions, which gives us the opportunity to set out strong development ambitions. We are entering the European market with an unprecedented offer and a solid track record. We offer our customers the best operational standards on the products we are taking to market. “

The fund manager is launching its distribution across Europe with the Polen Focus US Growth fund of Polen Capital Management, an American asset manager, which is owned up to 20 per cent by iM Square.

This American fund manager founded in 1979 in Florida is a specialist in international growth stocks and equities. Its flagship strategy, Polen Focus Growth, which was launched in 1989 and has not been modified since, boasts an annualised performance of 13.4 per cent  at the end of May 2017 since its inception.

The two fund managers Dan Davidowitz and Damon Ficklin target US companies with very strong competitive advantages or operating in markets with significant barriers to entry. The portfolio is highly concentrated on 15 to 25 stocks, and it gives particular attention to earnings growth, which must be sustainable and above average. The company enjoyed considerable success on the US market in 2016 with net inflows of more than USD3 billion.

Damon Ficklin, co-manager of the Polen Focus US Growth fund, says: “We have never changed the investment philosophy of our strategy. This founding choice allows us today to show one of the best market performances associated with one of the lowest levels of risk. We now want to develop in Europe. IM Square, our shareholder as well as our industrial partner, allows us to enter this market by providing us with the best operational standards within the marketplace. “

IM Global Partner was designed as a multi-boutique platform. In addition to Polen Capital Management’s funds and the three Global Macro funds managed in-house, the fund manager will distribute as of early September the US High Yield strategy of Dolan Mc Enery, which is 45 per cent owned by iM Square.

Together with iM Square’s strategic acquisitions, it aims to expand its range of funds in order to have a complete range of core portfolio expertise. Its objective is to offer its clients access to the best management teams in the industry.
