Lipper figures show increased assets to European ETFs in May

Detlef Glow, Head of EMEA research at Thomson Reuters Lipper reports that net inflows, in combination with negative market impacts, led to increased assets under management in the European ETF industry (EUR578.1 billion) for May, up from EUR570.6 billion at the end of April.

Equity ETFs (+EUR6.2 billion) posted for May their eighth consecutive month of having the highest net inflows in the European ETF industry. The best selling Lipper global classification for May was once again Equity Eurozone (+EUR1.7 billion), followed by Equity Global (+EUR1.3 billion) and Equity Emerging Markets Global (+EUR1.3 billion).

iShares was the best-selling ETF promoter in Europe for May (+EUR4.6 billion), followed by UBS ETF (+EUR1.1 billion) and Xtrackers (+EUR1.0 billion). The 10 best selling funds gathered total net inflows of EUR4.3 billion for May.

The best selling ETF for May, iShares Edge MSCI Europe Value Factor UCITS ETF EUR Acc, accounted for net inflows of EUR0.6 billion or 6.7 per cent of the overall net inflows.
