Santander UK launches private bank and wealth management division

Santander UK has launched Santander Private, a service dedicated to providing banking and wealth management services to private clients, business owners and entrepreneurs.
Santander Private offers bespoke services to clients with investments and savings of over GBP500,000, or an annual income of more than GBP250,000.

The firm writes that clients will be supported by a dedicated private banker, one of over 40 specialists based across the country, who can provide advice and access to a range of exclusive services across banking, lending, investment and financial planning products.

The team will be led by Charlotte Platts, Head of Santander Private, who joined Santander UK last year with over 25 years’ experience in Private Banking and Wealth Management.
Santander Private will leverage the strengths of Santander Group’s private banking offering and presence in other markets internationally. It will be committed to identifying opportunities to protect and grow clients’ wealth over the long term.

Clients will have access to digital online banking services and a dedicated support from specialist contact centres which are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week managing day to day banking queries and transactions. In addition, clients can visit over 12,000 Santander branches in 12 countries across the globe.

Charlotte Platts, Head of Santander Private, says: “The launch of Santander Private is a significant step for our Wealth Management business. The introduction of this latest service is a natural progression in our Wealth model, which has grown significantly following the success of the Select offering and the launch of our Investment Hub aimed at making investments more accessible.

“Santander’s move into the private banking sector has been driven by strong demand from clients, particularly from within our corporate bank, requiring tailored solutions that match their financial goals. Our priority is offering an exclusive, personal service that clients can trust – banking that looks after them.”
