Pictet Wealth Management has appointed David Gaud as Chief Investment Officer (CIO), Asia, effective from 1 August 2017.
Based in Singapore, Gaud will oversee investment strategies for Asian private clients. He reports to Cesar Perez Ruiz, CIO of Pictet Wealth Management.
Gaud has over 20 years’ experience in the banking industry, mostly in Asia, including 11 years managing investment strategies. He joined Pictet from Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management, where he started working in 2006, first in France and then in Hong Kong, as an Asian equities fund manager. In his latest role at Edmond de Rothschild, David was Head of Emerging Equity. Previously, he worked at HSBC Bank, in Singapore and then in London, before joining Deutsche Bank’s Asia Equity Sales team in London. David began his career in 1996 at Fimat Bank in Singapore, where he was Desk Manager Futures and Options.
A French national, Gaud holds a Master’s degree in Economics as well as an Advanced Master’s in Risk Management & Financial Trading Activities from University of Lyon 2, France.

In Hong Kong, Pictet has been present since 1986 and was granted a banking licence for its wealth management services in 2012.
