EAB Investment Group, a SEC Registered Investment Advisor providing a series of proprietary alpha generating and risk mitigating strategies to advisory clients, has named Arnim S Holzer as Client Portfolio Manager, in addition to his existing role as its Macro and Tail Risk Strategist.
In his new role, Holzer will be responsible for building and communicating comprehensive risk management approaches to the group’s client base of institutional investors.
Holzer joined EAB Investment Group in September 2016 from ASH Strategy, an asset management advisory and consulting firm he founded, that offered a proprietary tail risk advisory service for institutional and HNW investors. Prior to ASH Strategy, Holzer was Chief Investment Officer of Israel Discount Bank of New York (IDB) where he was responsible for executing the firm’s investment management business strategy and establishing its investment operations and marketing infrastructure to roll out its offshore funds. Previously, he was Director, Asset Allocation Portfolio Manager and Strategist for Deutsche Asset Management (DeAM) and Chair of its Asset Allocation Committee. At DeAM, Holzer was the Portfolio Manager of a “portable alpha” overlay offshore fund, and managed USD3.6 billion in several asset allocation funds, most notably the USD2.8 billion Scudder Total Return Fund.
“As we look at both the investment environment and the marketplace for effective, defensively minded investment strategies, we feel it is important to position ourselves as a source of value added information to advisors on the funds we manage and the environment in general,” says Ed Boll, Managing Partner of EAB Investment Group. “We believe Arnim’s experience as both a multi-asset investor and advisory channel strategist should prove invaluable to expressing our commitment to supporting advisors as they consider more actively managed risk mitigation and alternative strategies.”
Holzer adds: “I am excited to take on this role at EAB as a spokesperson for the group’s fund strategies to various mutual fund networks to help these channels better understand the performance and effective use of EAB’s risk mitigation index strategies. We want to be in front of the financial advisory community to educate and communicate the various ways to look at volatility and risk so that clients understand the investment thesis and return objectives for their portfolios.”
