JP Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) has appointed John Adu as UK Head of ETF Distribution and Tom Stephens as Head of JP Morgan ETF International Capital Markets.

Both Adu and Stephens will be based in London and report into Byron Lake who was appointed Head of International ETFs in March this year. Both start with immediate effect.

In his role as UK Head of ETF Distribution, Adu will focus on building relationships with UK professional investors and delivering JPMAM’s ETF capabilities to clients.

As Head of JP Morgan’s ETF Capital Markets Desk, Stephens will be responsible for leading our capital markets group, with oversight on driving our capital markets strategy, strengthening relationships with authorized participants and market makers and collaborating closely with distribution teams for client support.

“As we take additional steps towards building our ETF capabilities internationally to serve our clients, we’re very pleased to have Tom and John on board with us. Both are highly regarded by the broader investment community and bring a wealth of ETF experience. Their combined expertise will help to accelerate our International ETFs expansion,” says Lake.

Adu joins from Deutsche Bank where he was responsible for cross-asset distribution of alternative, active and passive strategies to UK clients. Adu was at Source between 2010 and 2014 where he helped to build their UK/Ireland client base and smart beta product range across all client segments. Prior to this he held roles at IlliquidX, Welbeck Consulting and Barclays Global Investors. Financial News named Adu as one of the 40 under 40 ‘Rising Stars of Asset Management’ in 2013.

Stephens joins from Societe Generale Corporate and Investment Banking (SGCIB) where he was Head of ETF Execution Sales in Europe working with ETF clients, Global ETF Issuers and key internal stakeholders. Alongside his ETF responsibilities, Tom also held roles within the Cash Sales Trading and Program Sales Trading Teams. Prior to his nine years at SGCIB, Tom was a senior member of the iShares Capital Markets Team where he specialized in primary and secondary market ETF liquidity.
