Sandaire, one of the first multi-family offices in the UK founded by Alex Scott in 1996, has appointed James Fleming as Chief Executive Officer. His appointment will commence on 1st November, subject to regulatory approval.

Fleming brings with him over 30 years of private banking experience. He joins Sandaire from Arbuthnot Latham where he most recently held the position of Vice Chairman having previously been Chief Executive from 2012 to 2016, during which time he led the business through a prolonged period of growth.

James started his career at Hambros Bank and moved from the role of Managing Director of SG Hambros (UK) in 2002 to the private bank, Coutts & Co where he headed the International Division.

James succeeds Alexandra Altinger who joined Sandaire at the beginning of 2014 to lead the integration of the business with Lord North Street Ltd. During her time at Sandaire, Alexandra effected a transformation of the business by upgrading the operating model, introducing new oversight functions and strengthening the leadership team.

Founder of Sandaire and Chairman of parent company Applerigg, Alex Scott and recently appointed Chairman of Sandaire, Warwick Newbury comment:

“We thank Alexandra for her commitment to the business and wish her well in her future endeavours. As we commence a new chapter in our development, we are delighted to welcome James. His combination of leadership and deep sectoral knowledge gives us confidence in our ability to continue with the successful evolution of our business. With Warwick and James forming a dynamic new partnership, we are very excited about the future.”

Fleming says: “I am delighted to be joining Sandaire at this time and to be working with a team of such talented individuals. I will use my extensive experience in wealth management to lead the business through its next phase of growth and to enable it to innovate and to better serve the next generation.”
