Stuart McNulty, Alpha FMC

Alpha FMC appoints Head of Digital

Wealth and asset management consultant Alpha FMC (Alpha), a specialist in wealth and asset management consulting, has strengthened its Digital Practice with the appointment of Kevin O’Shaughnessy as Director and Head of Digital.

O’Shaughnessy was previously a Partner at PA Consulting where he led the Financial Services Digital business and broader Digital Transformation proposition for the group.
Alpha already plays a central role in helping clients adapt to digital trends and has seen demand for digital consulting services grow significantly across its clients globally. This has led to the expansion of the practice and recruitment of further senior expertise.
O’Shaughnessy joins Alpha with a mix of consulting and industry experience. He has held senior digital roles at Standard Life, GE Capital and Prudential, which give him first-hand experience of leading digital transformation in financial services organisations. In addition to his time at PA Consulting, O’Shaughnessy previously held a senior role at the Edinburgh based digital consultancy Insight Business Development, which advised both financial services and utility firms.
In his new role, O’Shaughnessy will further strengthen Alpha’s digital capabilities to deliver a highly-focused offering that will help clients to define and deliver effective digital strategies. This will bring together a mix of data capability, technology and fintech solutions, as well as agile design and delivery.
Commenting on this new hire, Alpha UK CEO Stuart McNulty (pictured), says: “Our clients are increasingly concerned with embedding digital at the heart of their businesses. I am delighted to welcome Kevin to the team – he is a great hire for Alpha, bringing fantastic experience in our sector and adjacent verticals, and a strong client network. Alpha’s work across all aspects of the investment value chain is increasingly delivered with a ‘digital-first’ mindset and this hire reflects our commitment to continue to be a market-leader in this space.”
O’Shaughnessy, says: “We have seen digital and data developments disrupt and re-shape the banking and insurance markets and now it is the turn of the asset and wealth management sector. I am excited to join Alpha at this critical time, to build on their excellent reputation in the sector and help clients develop pragmatic ways to capitalise on the significant benefits that digital has to offer”
Since its inception over 14 years ago, Alpha has grown rapidly, and is now the leading global consulting firm to the asset management industry with over 200 employees and 50 associates currently supporting clients in eight offices globally.
