Three JP Morgan Wealth Managers join First Republic

Senior wealth managers Jeff Sherman, Art Karabelas, and Okita Sevi have joined First Republic Private Wealth Management.

The advisors have each been appointed Managing Director and Wealth Manager and will work at First Republic Investment Management in Boston. “Jeff Sherman, Art Karabelas, and Okita Sevi are very accomplished wealth managers who have a long track record of serving both individual and business clients,” says Bob Thornton, President of First Republic Private Wealth Management. “They join our expanding team of wealth management professionals serving the Boston area, and they share First Republic’s commitment to exceptional client service.”
Sherman has 30 years of wealth management experience and served as branch manager throughout his career. Before joining First Republic, he was Financial Advisor and Executive Director at JP Morgan Securities in Boston. Earlier in his career, Sherman worked for Merrill Lynch in Newton, Massachusetts; Lehman Brothers in Boston; and Royal Bank of Canada (formerly Tucker Anthony Sutro) in Wellesley. Sherman earned a Bachelor’s degree in both Government and Art History from Bowdoin College in Maine.
Karabelas has more than 28 years of experience and worked as a Financial Advisor and Executive Director at JP Morgan Securities in Boston before First Republic. He develops comprehensive wealth management programs for clients, including fixed-income and hedging strategies to protect against interest rate risk. Karabelas also works with business clients, providing cash management services and supporting senior executives participating in 10b5-1 plans and stock option exercises. Earlier in his career, he worked for Merrill Lynch for eight years. Karabelas received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Finance from Babson College.
Sevi has more than 17 years of wealth management experience and was a Financial Advisor at JP Morgan Securities in Boston prior to First Republic. She has extensive experience as both a financial advisor creating wealth management strategies and as a private banker providing commercial and residential lending services. Before JP Morgan Securities, Sevi worked for Bank of America in Newton for 11 years as a Senior Private Client Manager. Earlier in her career, she worked for Merrill Lynch. Sevi earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Marketing from Tirana University in Tirana, Albania.
