VAM Funds appoints Investment Director

VAM Funds, a UCITS V Luxembourg fund management company, has appointed Helen Holmes (pictured), as Investment Director.

In terms of investment communication and relationship management, Holmes will be an extension of the support that VAM receives from Close Brothers Asset Management and Driehaus Capital Management, and will work alongside VAM’s existing global sales team.
Holmes will be travelling extensively to articulate VAM’s investment proposition to wealth management intermediaries, and to protect and grow VAM’s funds under management. She will report into David Macdonald, Group Sales & Marketing Director.
Prior to her appointment, Holmes spent nine years at Emirates NBD Asset Management in Dubai where she held several positions, initially as a Fund Analyst and Fund Manager, before most recently becoming Senior Investment Manager of the international product offering. As part of this role, Holmes was responsible for managing portfolios and client relationships, as well as offering technical support within the business.
The news follows two recent promotions at VAM, with David Macdonald’s appointment to Group Sales & Marketing Director, and David Cockerton to Group Development Director. Founded in 2001, VAM Funds has its multi-asset discretionary funds advised by Close Brothers Asset Management and its single strategy funds advised by Driehaus Capital Management.
David Macdonald, Group Sales & Marketing Director, VAM, says: “I am delighted to attract an investment professional of Helen’s calibre to VAM and her appointment reflects the growth of our business over the last 12 months.
“Helen’s skills and international investment expertise gained during her career in the Middle East add real value to our clients globally.”
Holmes says: “I’m delighted to be joining VAM as Investment Director. This is a business that recognises the value of local relationships and is committed to developing strong connections with advisers regionally, despite its global presence.
“These local relationships are central to VAM’s business objectives, and I look forward to further developing our communication with intermediaries as I articulate the company’s investment proposition to our clients to grow our position in the market.”
