280 CapMarkets, a technology-driven fixed income business, has added industry veterans Mark McCabe and Linda Vara to the company’s institutional sales team in New York.

The addition of McCabe and Vara builds upon the company’s growing roster of highly experienced and respected capital markets professionals.

“I am thrilled to welcome Mark and Linda to the 280 CapMarkets team,” says Dave Rudd, managing director, head of institutional sales. “Mark brings more than 30 years of municipal bond sales expertise, covering top tier institutional accounts. And Linda has extensive experience in establishing and maintaining systems and processes to support municipal fixed income sales and trading. They join us at an exciting time in our company’s development when we are growing and attracting top industry talent who recognise the value and opportunity associated with our unique technology-driven business model.”

Prior to joining 280 CapMarkets, McCabe and Vara held senior roles at Janney Montgomery Scott.  They were also previously with First Southwest & Co, Stifel Nicolaus & Co, and Stone & Youngberg.

At 280 CapMarkets, they are reunited with other municipal market veterans from Stone & Youngberg. “Mark and Linda were anchors in our New York office,” says Tom Lockard, managing director and investment banking head. “Dave Hsu, Nick Denicke, and I are excited to be back together with them, building a technology-driven, high-touch municipal practice at 280 CapMarkets.”

“I believe the municipal bond market is ready for the transparency and choice that 280 CapMarkets can offer by combining a unique technology platform with deep traditional fixed income brokerage expertise,” says Mark McCabe. “Linda and I are excited to work alongside this talented group of people to take 280 CapMarkets to its next level of success.”

280 CapMarkets is at the forefront of providing a transparent, modern way for investment advisors to access, search and compare a broad universe of bonds through its cloud-based platform, Bond Navigator. This technology provides greater transparency into bond pricing and availability. It gives advisors visibility to a full range of bond offerings by issuer or series, along with historical trading data, so that they can confidently select the right bonds for their client at the right price. Bond Navigator is backed by an experienced, high-touch, full service capital markets team, whose extensive expertise allows the company to deliver an outstanding experience to investment advisors for the benefit of their clients.
