GSAM and GQG Partners launch Global Equity Strategy

Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) has launched the Goldman Sachs GQG Partners Global Equity Portfolio, a long-only Portfolio which will be managed by Rajiv Jain, a 24-year investment industry veteran and Chairman and Chief Investment Officer of GQG Partners (GQG Partners).

The Portfolio aims to uncover high-quality opportunities around the globe, driven by its adaptable and independent investment approach. The investment team includes professionals from both traditional and non-traditional backgrounds, such as investigative journalism and forensic accountancy, which fosters a culture of debate and diverse insights as part of their investment process.
“We believe that including non-traditional perspectives in our bottom-up approach allows us to see things other investors may miss, a belief reinforced by experience successfully navigating two 20%+ drawdowns and a 50 per cent-plus drawdown in the global equity market,” says Rajiv Jain, CIO and Portfolio Manager.
The Portfolio seeks a focused and unconstrained portfolio of 35-70 global companies that have sustainable long-term growth prospects at a reasonable price. Each potential holding is rigorously evaluated through a fundamental approach based on the strength of the business, growth potential and valuations. By taking an active and flexible approach, the Portfolio is able to adapt to changing market conditions and, as a result, will often look different than the benchmark1 in terms of country and sector weights.
“Many investors require more global diversification in their equity portfolios as well as a focus on achieving long-term results,” says Nick Phillips, Head of International Third Party Distribution at GSAM. “Rajiv has become a trusted partner of the firm, helping to manage our clients’ assets for almost a decade. Through offering global developed and emerging market equity exposure in one product, we believe his investment strategy will further help clients achieve their long-term goals.”
The Portfolio is a new sub-fund of the UCITS-qualifying Luxembourg-domiciled Goldman Sachs Funds SICAV. The Portfolio is offered to both institutional and retail clients and is registered for sale across a range of European countries.
