SYZ Asset Management expands UK offering with OYSTER Diversified GBP fund

SYZ Asset Management, the institutional asset management arm of the SYZ Group, has launched a sterling version of the successful OYSTER Diversified EUR fund for UK investors.

The OYSTER Diversified GBP (the “Fund”) expands on SYZ Asset Management’s evolving range of strategies denominated and hedged in sterling. Early investors into the Fund will be rewarded with preferred fee conditions: 0 per cent management fee until 01.03.2019.
SYZ Asset Management has been dedicated to the UK market since 1999. The launch of OYSTER Diversified GBP reaffirms SYZ Asset Management’s commitment to providing successful investment solutions to the UK market.
The Fund’s launch is also recognition of a growing demand for multi-asset income strategies among UK investors. SYZ Asset Management’s existing suite of GBP-denominated multi-asset solutions will now be complemented by the OYSTER Diversified GBP fund, which caters to investors seeking a strategy with a higher risk/return profile and a regular income stream.
The fund is managed by Hartwig Kos (pictured), Lead Portfolio Manager, and Maurice Harari, Portfolio Manager. The experienced team has successfully managed the sister fund, OYSTER Multi-Asset Diversified EUR fund, since they joined the London-based investment team in early 2016 and has since then posted a performance of +13.8 per cent versus a peer group average of +6.4 per cent.
SYZ Asset Management has offered robust multi-asset investment solutions to investors for over 19 years, including the well-established OYSTER Absolute Return GBP strategy (most suitable for investors with a lower risk tolerance), which was launched in 2008.
SYZ Asset Management’s multi-asset funds are known for their active allocation style based on in-depth analysis of the macro-economic environment and prevailing asset valuations. As at the end of 2017, SYZ Asset Management managed GBP 1.27 bn (EUR 1.43 bn or CHF 1.67 bn) in multi-asset strategies.
SYZ Asset Management has made a decision to offer its new sterling solution with no management fee until 1 March 2019 in order to support initial asset growth and reward investors for their early support of the Fund.
Katia Coudray, CEO of SYZ Asset Management, says: “In today’s investment environment, launching new strategies is increasingly challenging the demand for long track records and sizeable assets before considering an investment.” She added: “While such limitations can result in rationed fund selection for investors, a main consequence can be a shortage of new ideas from all but the largest investment managers, which limits investor choices.”
“At a time when valuations in many assets classes are stretched, multi-asset approaches are attractive for investors who want to better manage their risk,” says Hartwig Kos. “SYZ Multi-Asset Solutions invest actively across equities, fixed income and other special opportunities in order to best navigate markets and deliver returns in line with their objectives.”
