Horizons launches new marijuana ETF on NEO

RELATED TOPICS

Horizons ETFs Management has launched the Horizons Emerging Marijuana Growers Index ETF (HMJR) on NEO.

Nine individual ETF providers now have products listed on NEO.

HMJR seeks to replicate the Emerging Marijuana Growers Index, net of expenses. The index provides direct exposure to small-capitalisation companies that are primarily involved in the cultivation, production and/or distribution of marijuana.

“HMJR will exclusively invest in marijuana growers that, in our view, are well-positioned to take part in the global growth of the marijuana sector,” says Steve Hawkins, President and Co-CEO of Horizons ETFs. “NEO’s support of the budding marijuana industry gave us the confidence to launch this unique product on their market.”

This is the first time Horizons ETFs has selected NEO as a listing venue.

“We are working to build a healthier, more competitive market in Canada and we are thrilled that our success has given Horizons ETFs confidence to list this new and innovative ETF on NEO,” says Jos Schmitt, President and Chief Executive Officer, NEO. “Innovation combined with a heightened focus on service and doing what is right for investors and capital-raising companies is what allowed NEO to become a formidable competitor in the Canadian senior stock exchange landscape.”
