New President appointed to CISI Northern Ireland Branch

John Cubitt, Chartered FCSI, has been appointed President of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) Northern Ireland Branch.

A Chartered Wealth Manager with Cunningham Coates (part of Smith & Williamson group), Cubitt graduated from the Queen’s University of Belfast with a BSc in Economics and MSc in Finance.  He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
Cubitt has over 18 years of wealth management experience, managing investment portfolios for private clients, trusts, companies and charities on a discretionary and non-discretionary basis. He also has a keen interest in Estate Administration and Probate matters.
He replaces Chris Taggart, Chartered FCSI of Quilter Cheviot as President of the region as part of their succession planning.
Cubitt says: “I am delighted to take on this role within the Northern Ireland investment community.  I have inherited a strong and focused committee who are dedicated to providing topical CPD events, networking opportunities and collaborating with local education establishments to provide insight into working in the investment industry.”
Richard Bennett, CISI Assistant Director and Head of Membership, says: “We are delighted to welcome John as our new Northern Ireland President and to thank outgoing President Chris Taggart for his leadership over the past two years.  We look forward to working with John to continue to plan and shape the branch programme and help grow our membership during the year ahead.”
Forthcoming CPD events in the diary for the Northern Ireland CISI branch include their Annual Dinner 22 February, 29 March ‘State of the Northern Ireland Economy: now and looking forward’, and 10 April ‘Running an efficient business and generating tax free income across a range of tax wrappers’.
