Citi Private Bank adds to North American wealth planning team

Citi Private Bank has appointed Natalia Murphy as the Head of Trust and Wealth Planning for North America.

Murphy is based in New York and reports to Elena Mortemore, Managing Director and Head of Trust and Wealth Planning for the Americas, Citi Private Bank.
In this capacity, Murphy is responsible for developing and managing wealth planning business strategy and driving business development activities for Citi Trust in the US and Canada, as well as leading a team of wealth planning specialists with expertise in fiduciary products and insurance solutions.
“Natalia is a seasoned trust and wealth planning professional with more than 17 years of experience in the domestic and cross-border wealth planning business. As a former Wealth Planner at Citi Private Bank, she has a proven sales record, demonstrated expert knowledge and impressive technical skills that make her well-suited for her new role,” says Mortemore.
Prior to joining Citi Private Bank, Murphy was senior counsel in the Individual Clients Department at the law firm of Day Pitney LLP in New York City. During her nine years at Day Pitney, she focused her practice on sophisticated estate and trust planning for affluent US and international families. Prior to Day Pitney, she was an associate for five years with the law firm of Farrell Fritz on Long Island, where she helped clients achieve their estate planning goals and supervised trust and estate administration matters.
“I am thrilled to be leading the North American wealth planning team at this exciting time. Our team offers sophisticated wealth planning to our clients to meet their specific needs, with particular expertise in planning for clients facing complex, multi-jurisdictional, multi-generational planning issues. For almost two centuries, Citi Trust has been providing customised and high-touch fiduciary services to our clients and it’s no different today. We pride ourselves on not just navigating the way forward for our clients, but leveraging best solutions and strategies in a customised and transparent approach to optimise results and client satisfaction,” says Murphy.
