The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) has appointed Louise McEveley, Chartered MCSI, as President of its Liverpool branch.
The CISI is the professional body for those working in or looking to establish a career in the financial planning, wealth management and capital markets professions. It has a network of 23 branch committees throughout the UK whose primary role is to support the provision of continuing professional development opportunities, social and networking events for CISI members.
McEveley (pictured), has four years’ experience on the CISI Liverpool Branch committee and more than 13 years’ experience in the financial services profession.
McEveley is a Vice President at BNY Mellon’s Pershing Limited with responsibility for the ongoing optimisation of the operations function. Based in Liverpool, where Pershing has an office of over 200 employees, Louise has worked at the company since 2005.
McEveley takes over the role from outgoing President James Charlton, Chartered FCSI.
McEveley says: “I am honoured to be taking up this role and continue the legacy built up by James. Under his guidance, the Liverpool branch has become a pioneer committee for its work with local schools, colleges and firms. Our professional careers insight programmes for students have supported local young people to become excited by a career in finance. Continuing the work of the Liverpool branch in supporting the local region, particularly through education programmes, will be a key priority for us over the coming year. We are committed to driving a collaborative approach in our initiatives to ensure a more accurate representation of the local community in Liverpool’s financial services profession.”
James Charlton, Chartered FCSI, says: “I am extremely proud to have led the committee over what has been a pivotal two year period for the Liverpool, Chester and North Wales branch. The Liverpool education programme has gone from strength to strength and I am delighted to have played some part in nurturing the region’s next generation of talented investment professionals.
“I know Louise will continue our hard work, and with passion and commitment, to ensure that Liverpool maintains its status as a Financial Centre of Excellence. She is an excellent role model, not least for aspiring young women, and I look forward to working under Louise’s stewardship.”
Richard Bennett, CISI Regional Director, says: “We are delighted to welcome Louise as the new Liverpool CISI branch committee President and I would like to thank outgoing President James Charlton for his excellent leadership. We look forward to supporting Louise with her plans for the membership during her two-year term.”
