JP Morgan Asset Management (JPMAM) has made six new appointments to its fast-growing international ETF business as it seeks to expand its presence and ETF platform across Europe. The new hires will be based across London, Germany, Italy, the Nordics and Spain and start with immediate effect.

Philip Annecke has been appointed Head of ETF Distribution for Germany and Austria. At JPMAM he will be responsible for leading JPMAM’s ETF business in both Germany and Austria, with a primary focus on institutional clients. He will be based in London and regularly travel to both countries. He joins from Invesco Powershares (previously Source). Having been one of Source’s earliest employees, Annecke is well versed in business development. Prior to Source, Annecke worked at Credit Suisse within its private banking and FX trading divisions.

Roberta Gastaldello has been appointed Head of ETF Distribution for Italy and will be based in Milan. She joins from Amundi Asset Management where she specialised in ETF sales across wholesale and insurance clients. Prior to Amundi Asset Management, Gastaldello spent seven years as a fund selector at Euromobiliare Asset Management and four years as a portfolio manager for a fund of hedge funds at Euromobiliare Alternative Investments, both divisions of the Credem Group.

Andrew Moore has been appointed an ETF Capital Markets Specialist and will be based in London. His responsibilities will include maintaining relationships with Authorised Participants, Market Makers and the wider ETF ecosystem. Moore joins from Vanguard Asset Management where he held several roles over five years including fund accountant, operations specialist and ETF capital markets analyst. Prior to this Moore was a fund accountant at BNY Mellon.

Tobias Nilsson has been appointed an ETF Specialist who will deliver JPMAM’s ETF capabilities to clients based in the Nordics. He will be based in Stockholm. Nilsson joins from WisdomTree where he was responsible for leading business development and client coverage in the Nordic countries. Prior to this Nilsson spent several years at State Street Global Advisors, initially as an investment strategist for SPDR ETF before leading the firms’ Nordic intermediary sales.

Antonia Millard has been appointed a Sales Executive to support JPMAM’s International ETF business and will be based in London. She joins from J.P. Morgan’s Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) where she worked as an industrials specialist sales representative with the CIB’s Markets division.

Lorena Martinez-Olivares, a JPMAM sales executive based in Madrid, has had her role expanded. Having forged close ties with Spain’s wholesale market, Martinez-Olivares will now support JPMAM’s ETF distribution effort in Spain. Martinez-Olivares began her career as a client adviser within JPMorgan Personal Financial Services in 1999 before moving across to J.P. Morgan Asset Management.

Commenting on the hires, Bryon Lake, Head of International ETFs at JPMAM, says: “We’re very excited to have Philip, Roberta, Tobias, Andrew, Antonia and Lorena on board with us. The collective wealth of industry and ETF experience brought by these new hires significantly enhances our ability to serve clients in key markets. As we rapidly expand our ETF product offerings across Europe, having local ETF distribution expertise is a key part of our strategy.”
