UK-based Chartered Financial Planning firm Fairstone has appointed Chris Rigg as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Rigg takes up the role with immediate effect and will also join the Fairstone Group board of directors.

With over 20 years of corporate finance experience, Rigg has been involved in some of the North East’s leading businesses including Quantum Pharma PLC, Northern Recruitment Group and Barclays Bank. He has extensive acquisition, sale, MBO and fundraising experience in private equity and PLC markets.

Chris brings with him a wealth of experience. He trained as an auditor with PwC before joining Deloitte’s corporate finance team and progressing to corporate finance director. He later joined Quantum Pharma PLC as CFO to support its turnaround which concluded in a growth in EBITDA to GBP12.5 million and a GBP156 million enterprise value sale to Clinigen Group PLC.

Chris also grew NRG, a recruitment business, from break even to strong profits across a two-year tenure.

Fairstone Chief Executive, Lee Hartley, says: “It is a pleasure to welcome Chris to Fairstone’s senior management team. We have been developing our executive capability over the last 12 months as we gear up for our next stage of growth. I am entirely confident in Chris’ ability to utilise his extensive experience to contribute to the future evolution of the business.”

Rigg adds: “Having worked in the North East throughout my career I have been very aware of Fairstone’s success and its growth trajectory is hard to ignore. I am delighted to be joining such an innovative business with such a strong team and I look forward to being a key part of the firm’s continued success.”
