Wesleyan, a provider of specialist financial advice and solutions for doctors, dentists, lawyers and teachers, has added Ahmed Farooq to its Board of Directors.
Farooq joined Wesleyan in 2010 and achieved a number of promotions in a short period to become Chief Financial Officer in 2015.
Nathan Moss, Wesleyan Chair, says: “Ahmed has played an integral role in Wesleyan’s success over recent years and has shown real commitment to our business. He has worked his way up through a number of roles and has a great understanding of our customers, culture and values.”
“He is a strong voice in support of running the Society in the most efficient way and a real advocate of continuous improvement across the business. Both myself and my Board colleagues are looking forward to working even more closely with Ahmed who has been a regular attendee at our meetings since becoming Chief Financial Officer.”
Farooq says: “I’m honoured to be joining the Board of a company that I love. I am passionate about Wesleyan and excited to play a greater role in the ongoing growth of the business. I want to make sure we grow in a way that delivers best value for our members and customers and we continue to deliver a first class service.”
Farooq leads Wesleyan’s Finance, Actuarial, Procurement and Investments teams. He was named the West Midlands Young Director of the Year by the Institute of Directors in 2017. He was Chair of Birmingham Professional Services until January 2017, a group that represents the business, professional and financial services in Birmingham.
