Derivative asset management firm Harvest Volatility Management (Harvest) has bolstered its ‘40 Act Investment Products team with the addition of two seasoned executives from Horizons ETFs Management, Garrett Paolella, former Managing Director and the Head of ETFs, and Troy Cates, former Managing Director and Head of Trading.

Harvest expanded its investment platform in January 2018, launching three mutual funds: Harvest Edge Absolute (NASDAQ: HEANX; NASDAQ: HEAIX), Harvest Edge Equity (NASDAQ: HEENX; NASDAQ: HEEIX) and Harvest Edge Bond (NASDAQ: HEBNX; NASDAQ: HEBIX).

Rick Selvala (pictured), Harvest’s Chief Executive Officer, says: “We are excited to continue broadening Harvest’s investment capabilities in what we believe is an attractive market environment. Over time, we will look to introduce more innovative strategies and products for our institutional and retail clients.”

“Garrett and Troy are seasoned professionals with significant industry experience in global markets who have a proven track record of launching ‘40 Act strategies and bringing them to market quickly and efficiently. We welcome their deep expertise and extensive relationships as we identify new ways to provide our clients to access our investment strategies.”

At Horizons ETFs Management, Paolella was responsible for all aspects of the US ETF business and a member of firm’s Investment Committee. As Head of Trading and a Portfolio Manager at Horizons ETFs Management, Cates was a member of the firm’s Investment Committee, oversaw the daily portfolio management, and served as a member of the Product Development team. Previously, Cates was a Partner, the Head of Trading and member of the Investment Committee at Recon Capital, where he oversaw portfolio management and trading for the exchange traded funds, closed end funds and separately managed accounts.
