Wilmington Trust makes leadership appointments to wealth advisory and private banking

Wilmington Trust has appointed William Buccella as president of US Markets for Wealth Advisory, and Ann Silverman as president of Private Banking. Previously, Buccella served as president of Private Banking, and Silverman as group manager for Private Banking.

“With their deep experience and expertise combined with their strong commitment to client service, Ann and Bill will lead their teams to new heights as they help our clients meet their needs, leverage opportunities and achieve their goals,” says Doris P Meister, executive vice president of wealth management at Wilmington Trust.
As president of US Markets, Buccella is responsible for the strategic direction and growth of Wilmington Trust’s high-net-worth wealth management business across the country. He will coordinate the delivery of comprehensive wealth management services to clients through the company’s network of investment professionals, market leaders, regional leaders, and business partners.
Buccella has 30 years of experience in financial services including banking and wealth management roles. He came to Wilmington Trust in 2017 from Northern Trust Company, where he was president of Private Wealth Management for the New England region. He also served as director of sales for Northern Trust’s Northeast region. Previously, he was a managing director and Divisional Sales Performance Executive at US Trust. Earlier in his career, Buccella held positions at Merrill Lynch, Fleet Bank, and BayBank.
Buccella earned an MBA from Babson College, and a bachelor’s degree from Boston College. He is active in the community, serving on the board of overseers and audit committee for the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. He is also a member of the board of trustees for the Boys & Girls Club of Boston, and serves on the board of directors for the Franklin Performing Arts Company.
