UBS Asset Management has launched the UBS Global Strategic Bond Fund, a total return-focussed, flexible fixed income fund which aims to provide a unique, highly diversified offering for clients seeking an all-in-one fixed income solution with multiple return drivers.
Domiciled in the United Kingdom, as an open-ended investment company, the new fund is based on the successful UBS (Lux) Global Dynamic Bond Fund, which has over USD200 million in AUM. Led by Kevin Zhao, Head of Global Sovereign and Currency, Fixed Income, the fund will be run by an experienced team with extensive expertise drawing on UBS Asset Management’s global research resources to access opportunities irrespective of geography or sector.
The fund, which will sit within the Investment Association £ Strategic Bond sector, has the flexibility to invest in the most attractive opportunities across global fixed income markets. A benefit of the unconstrained nature of the fund is that it has the potential to perform regardless of the market environment, in contrast to benchmark-aware or indexed strategies. This type of flexibility can be especially useful to protect capital or even profit from rising interest rates.
Andy Larkin, Head of Wholesale UK, Nordics and Benelux at UBS Asset Management, says: “The launch of the UBS Global Strategic Bond Fund brings UBS Asset Management’s comprehensive fixed income capabilities into a convenient product that we believe will be attractive to clients looking for a flexible solution for their fixed income exposure.”
