Rockefeller Capital Management has hired Christopher Dupuy as a Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer for Rockefeller Wealth Management.
Dupuy joins from Focus Financial Partners, where he was a Managing Director and President of Focus Independence.
“Appointing Chris as COO of Rockefeller Wealth Management is the latest step in our commitment to build a premier wealth advisory platform to enable our ultra- and high-net-worth clients to rely on Rockefeller across their diverse spectrum of needs,” says Gregory J Fleming, President & CEO of Rockefeller Capital Management.
“There are few professionals with the broad experience and proven capability that Chris brings to Rockefeller. He has spent his entire career in Wealth Management, the first 29 years with Merrill Lynch, successfully managing thousands of advisors and many different business platforms while always maintaining a focus on the client as the guiding principle.”
In his new role, Dupuy will oversee all aspects of strategy and execution for Rockefeller Wealth Management, including selecting new markets to expand Rockefeller’s footprint and leading screening and diligence for potential acquisitions. Dupuy will also help ensure the seamless integration of new wealth advisors onto the Rockefeller platform.
Dupuy will be based in San Francisco and open the Firm’s first office there. Rockefeller previously hired Michael Outlaw, who has now started as a Managing Director in Atlanta, with responsibility for recruiting and managing wealth advisors in the eastern half of the United States. The additions of Dupuy and Outlaw are expected to accelerate Rockefeller Wealth Management’s expansion plans as the Firm continues to build out its platform, bringing sound investment advice and solutions to wealthy clients across the country.
Prior to joining Focus in 2014, Chris began his career at Merrill Lynch in 1986. He began his career as a Financial Advisor in Morristown, NJ, and later rose to the role of Managing Director. Dupuy first served as National Sales Manager for the Merrill Lynch advisor branch systems in the United States and Latin America, and then ran the Wealth Management Bank and Global Investment Solutions businesses around the world. Ultimately, Dupuy led all of Merrill’s Private Banking units, Wealth Management branch offices and International Private Client hubs for the Pacific Northwest while he resided in San Francisco. He is a graduate of James Madison University.
