Baillie Gifford, an Edinburgh-based investment management partnership, has promited Helen Xiong to co-manager of the Baillie Gifford US Growth Trust plc.
Xiong will step up from her role as deputy manager on the trust to co-manager alongside Gary Robinson. The pair, both part of Baillie Gifford’s US Equities team, have managed the trust since its launch in March 2018.
Xiong joined Baillie Gifford in 2008 as a graduate from the University of Cambridge, and has spent time working in its Developed Asia, UK, North America, Emerging Markets, and Global Equity teams before assuming her current role as an investment manager within the US Equities team.
The Baillie Gifford US Growth Trust plc aims to identify exceptional growth companies in North America and employs a long-term investment approach. It was launched by Baillie Gifford to provide the flexibility to invest in both public and private markets within the region, and as of 30 November 2018, has GBP259.86 million assets under management.
Gary Robinson, co-manager, Baillie Gifford US Growth Trust plc, says: “The co-manager structure better reflects Helen’s very strong contribution and our team-based approach to portfolio management.”
