Value Partners Group appoints co-board chairmen

Value Partners Group Limited has appointed Dato’ Seri Cheah Cheng Hye and So Chun Ki Louis as Co-Chairmen of the company’s Board.

Dato is currently the Chairman and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Value Partners, while So is currently the Deputy Chairman and Co-Chief Investment Officer.
The re-designation and appointment is part of the Group’s ongoing succession planning initiatives to ensure the continuity of strong business stewardship. It is the latest step in a succession planning process that has been underway for the past several years, going back to 2012 when Mr. So was appointed Deputy Chairman.
Dato will continue to play an active role in steering the Group’s overall business and investment strategies. So will work closely with Dato on all aspects of providing leadership to Value Partners. While So will be more engaged in the daily operations of the Group, Dato will focus more on strategic matters. Dato will also be responsible for appointments of key staff and the overall positioning of Value Partners as a financial services platform. It is expected that the collaboration between Dato and So will bring about more growth potential and facilitate the Group’s transformation from a regional player to a world-class asset management group.
Dato says: “Value Partners has built a very valuable brand and platform and I remain fully committed to the Group, as always. Certainly, the future is promising.”
