MCM Wealth launches new website for protective alternative investments

MCM Wealth, a 22-year-old wealth management firm for high-net-worth individuals and family offices, has launched a new website educating the market on protective alternative investments, along with its integrated family office services including whole life financial planning, private wealth management, estate planning and fee-only insurance solutions.

“Protective alternative investments,” a term coined by MCM Wealth founder and CFP, Geoff Hakim, refers to a niche approach to investing that offers clients performance and peace of mind through all market conditions by combining multiple alternative managers offering lowly correlated return patterns to each other within a single portfolio. This investment philosophy was generated from an examination of the historical ebbs and flows of the financial markets and its damaging effects on investors.

Twenty-two recessions have occurred since 1900, causing typical losses of 30 to 60 percent and often requiring five to seven years to earn those dollars back. Recognising that these are non-productive periods of time that almost no one can spare when it comes to his or her financial future, MCM Wealth spearheaded their alternative approach.

“Today’s organic investment environment is just too volatile and uncertain to take more risk than necessary with one’s nest egg. For most people those dollars represent both a lifetime of work and their future. There’s an easier way to grow these dollars,” says Hakim.

MCM Wealth specialises in researching protective alternative investments, specifically chosen to significantly outperform the stock market when invested over the full span of a bull, bear and recessionary cycle, growing the portfolio both safer and faster while saving the investor years of time.

According to a Peltz International survey of family offices, alternative investments now make up more than 52 percent of family office portfolios, compared to 22 per cent for equities and 15 per cent for fixed income. The simple reason being that those investments generated 10.2 percent average return in 2018, while stocks lost four to eight percent.

MCM Wealth also offers the latest generation of integrated family office services in the areas of impact investing, charitable giving, and foundational, advanced and legacy estate planning. The firm also has expertise in a broad range of fee-based insurance solutions including those that combine its investing approach, wrapped within an insurance policy to produce tax-free growth and distributions on otherwise taxable accounts.
