Investec Asset Management has strengthened its multi-asset investment capability with the appointment of James Elliot, who will head the team from July 2019.

Bringing with him 24 years of industry experience, Elliot’s remit as Head of Multi-Asset at Investec Asset Management will include oversight of all existing investment solutions and the addition of new strategies. The team will continue to focus on delivering high quality, outcome-oriented investment solutions catering to the needs of an international client base. Elliot will report to Domenico Ferrini, co-CEO, Investec Asset Management.

Elliot joins from JP Morgan, where for the last seven years he led the development of the firm’s international multi-asset solutions business and was responsible for the global strategy and quantitative research teams, alongside all portfolio management and investment specialist teams in London and Asia. As well as overseeing a range of outcome-oriented solutions, including balanced, diversified growth, income, convertible bond and bespoke insurance-related solutions, he was the founder and co-portfolio manager of the successful JPM Global Macro suite of strategies.

Ferrini says: “James’s appointment to lead our experienced and established multi-asset team underscores our commitment to delivering market-leading multi-asset investment solutions for our clients.

“James brings with him a wealth of invaluable portfolio management, product and leadership experience, which will help to take our multi-asset investment capability to the next level and allows us to compete meaningfully on a global stage.  We are delighted to welcome him to the business.”
