Crestbridge has appointed Bashar Bazian as Managing Director of its Bahrain office.

The Bahrain office, which became part of the Crestbridge Group in April 2017 after the acquisition of Ohad Trust, continues to provide a wide range of services to clients, including administration, accounting, reporting and trustee services to funds, corporates, employee benefits trusts, philanthropic and family office structures.

In his new role, Bazian will assume responsibility for business development activity in the Middle East in addition to the growth strategy and performance of the office, which has grown by nearly 50 per cent over the past two years.

With over 30 years’ experience in the region, Bazian has a strong track record in developing relationships with financial institutions, UHNW families and institutional investors. He brings with him a wealth of experience most recently as a private consultant, and previously as the former CEO of Intertrust Bahrain, Director at Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse and UBS, and before that Regional Head for Arab Bank Group.

Former Managing Director, Naser Obaid, will continue to stay close to the business as he becomes a non-executive director of Crestbridge Bahrain BSC (c) company.

Paul Perris, Group Managing Director, Crestbridge, says: “The Middle East continues to be strategically important to Crestbridge and having such an experienced individual as Bashar on the ground in Bahrain enables us to continue to add value to clients, who require increasingly sophisticated support in relation to their local and international assets.

“We continue to be a market leader in Sharia’a compliant and Islamic Finance products and Private Investment Undertakings and provide a growing range of administration, accounting, reporting and trustee services to funds, corporates, UHNWI and family office structures in the region. I’m delighted that Bashar is able to join the team, and that Naser will remain close to the business as a Board member, and a key part of the succession and continued success of Crestbridge Bahrain.”

Bazian adds: “I’m pleased to be joining Crestbridge at this incredibly exciting time. I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues here in Bahrain, and also the wider management team to support the Group with its continued international growth and strong commitment to customer service.”
