haysmacintyre has appointed two new directors, Kay Mind and Stephanie Parker, in the firm’s Private Client and Trusts team.
Mind joins the team from Kreston Reeves, with extensive experience in advising high net worth individuals and their families, together with resident and non-resident trustees, on all UK taxes. In her new role, Mind will be advising non-resident and non-domiciled individuals moving to the UK, and non-resident trustees on the complexities of UK tax legislation and the implications for UK resident settlors and beneficiaries of offshore trusts. In addition, she will assist clients with estate administration and in obtaining Probate.
Mind is a Fellow and council member of the Association of Taxation Technicians, and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Parker joins haysmacintyre to head-up the Trusts team, from accountancy firm Creaseys. Her expertise lie predominantly in managing tax issues surrounding offshore trusts with UK beneficiaries or UK assets, as well as all aspects of inheritance tax. Parker’s skills also include planning to mitigate liabilities, Business Property Relief reviews and HMRC submissions for both estates and trusts.
Parker previously held the position of chair of the Kent STEP for a number of years, and still serves on the committee. In 2018, Stephanie was invited by the Office of Tax Simplification to sit on the Consultative Committee for its Inheritance Tax Review. After qualifying as a Trust and Estate Practitioner in 2007, Stephanie was awarded STEP’s Outstanding Student of the Year.
Katharine Arthur, haysmacintyre’s Head of Tax, says: “I am delighted to welcome both Kay and Stephanie. Our growing tax team provides a full tax service offering for all the firm’s Corporate, Not for Profit, Trusts and Private clients. With continuing changes to legislation and the tax framework, as well as the impact of Making Tax Digital, our clients are relying on us more than ever. Kay and Stephanie bring additional strength and experience that will be an invaluable addition to our tax team of over 70 specialists.”
