HarbourVest Partners appoints MD


HarbourVest Partners, a global private markets asset manager, has appointed Vinay Mendiratta has joined the firm as a Managing Director. Based in Boston, Mendiratta will focus on business development with distribution partners in the US to help private clients achieve their private markets objectives.

“Over the past decade, wealth management firms have sought greater exposure to private markets for their family office, private bank, wealth management, and institutional clients, and HarbourVest has a long track record of helping them meet their clients’ private market investment objectives,” says John Toomey, Managing Director, HarbourVest Partners. “This is a critical part of our strategic vision for the Firm and Vinay’s deep experience with this market segment will further strengthen our ability to serve this client base and we are excited to welcome him to the team.”
Mendiratta has nearly 30 years of experience in private equity and alternatives distribution in both the wealth management and institutional channels. Prior to joining HarbourVest, he was Head of Wealth Management Sales at Adams Street Partners, responsible for strategy and development of the firm’s wealth management business. Before that, Mendiratta held the role of Head of Wealth Management Platform Distribution at York Capital Management. His other experience includes leadership positions at ING Investment Management, Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, among other Firms.
Mendiratta received a BA in Economics and Political Science from Duke University and an MBA in Finance from Columbia University.
