Investec Wealth & Investment (IW&I) has strengthened its Exeter team with the appointment of Richard Wright as Financial Planning Director.

Wright will lead IW&I’s financial planning offering in the Exeter office and will report to Chris Aitken, the firm’s UK Head of Financial Planning.

Wright joins IW&I from the prominent South West-based accountancy firm PKF Francis Clark, where he managed the financial planning team based at its Plymouth office.

A Chartered Financial Planner and Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute, Richard also holds the specialist advanced diploma pension transfer qualification. In his role at IW&I, Richard will provide independent and specialist advice to private individuals and companies regarding retirement, tax efficient investment and succession planning.

The appointment means IW&I’s Exeter office, based in Southernhay Gardens, now has 18 members of staff.

Richard Wright, Financial Planning Director – Exeter, Investec Wealth & Investment, says: “I’m delighted to be joining Investec Wealth & Investment, one of the strongest names in wealth management and financial planning in the UK. There is clear and significant demand for the comprehensive financial planning service IW&I provides and I am greatly looking forward to building further on the presence the firm has locally in and around Exeter.”

Chris Aitken, Head of Financial Planning, Investec Wealth & Investment, says: “For many of our clients, financial planning has become as fundamental to our proposition as our core investment service. We have continued to invest in and grow our financial planning team across the UK and expect this momentum to continue, and are delighted to welcome someone of Richard’s calibre and experience to the Exeter team.”
