Celebrating the mathematicians

RELATED TOPICS

This week we celebrate the mathematicians and welcome our new staff writer Philippa Aylmer, who interviews Jackie Bowie, CEO of JCRA, an independent adviser on financial risk, who has recently launched Ada, a digital financial risk management portal for portfolio managers. It’s named for Ada Lovelace, the 19th century English mathematician and the original computer programmer.

We also discover from US research group Cerulli, that across Europe, retail investors are increasingly drawn to private markets, attracted by the offer of diversification, alternative income, and sustainable investment opportunities.

Cerulli reports that one of the main attractions is the hunt for returns that are relatively uncorrelated to mainstream asset classes such as equities and bonds.
