This week, we welcome our new staff writer Philippa Aylmer who starts with an interview with Hortense Bioy, Director of Passive Strategies and Sustainability Research, and an examination of Morningstar’s latest ETF report. Bioy reports that assets in European ETFs have doubled in the past five years, with Europe leading the way in ESG investing.
The specialist US ETF provider KraneShares has also been visiting Europe. Sjef Pieters, Head of European Sales at KraneShares explains that the USD1.7 billion KraneShares CSI China Internet UCITS ETF has just been listed on Euronext Amsterdam. This UCITS equivalent of the US ETF brings an ETF which is often used as a benchmark for Chinese internet companies to a new audience. KraneShares has some 14 ETFs in the US, and achieved a recent peak of USD3 billion under management, and currently just the one ETF in Europe. Pieters says that more European launches are planned.
