Stonehage Fleming adds director to Global Business Development team

Independently owned family office Stonehage Fleming has expanded its Global Business Development team with the appointment of Director, Darrell King.

With over 25 years’ experience in the wealth management industry, King joins Stonehage Fleming from the international wealth management division of Royal Bank of Canada, where he was Head of Intermediary Relationships (USA). In this role, he was responsible for developing integrated investment, trust and private banking solutions for high-net-worth clients. He holds the Trust & Estate Practitioner (TEP) and the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designations.
Darrell’s hire follows the recent appointment of Julie Gauthier, Director – Business Development, Switzerland, as key components of Stonehage Fleming’s focus on growth through business development activities with professional intermediaries globally. He joins members of the Global Business Development Team already based in London, Zurich and Toronto.
Darrell’s role is effective immediately, he joins Stonehage Fleming’s US office in Philadelphia and reports to Mike Moodie, Global Head of Business Development.
Mike Moodie, Global Head of Business Development, Stonehage Fleming, says: “We are very pleased to welcome Darrell to the Business Development team. Darrell has an impressive career and extensive experience in working with families across the Americas and Europe with complex cross border needs to manage the preservation and transfer of their wealth.”
“Darrell’s appointment bolsters our business development team based across the UK, Europe and North America. It demonstrates our commitment to grow our global business organically by working with professional intermediaries and to become a truly international family office. Stonehage Fleming’s strategic alliance with Glenmede has led to the expansion of the Group’s geographical reach across North America and Darrell’s appointment will help to leverage this.”
King says: “It gives me great pleasure to join Stonehage Fleming’s Business Development team at such an exciting time during the Group’s journey. I am looking forward to further expanding the Group’s business and client base, widening their range of services further across the globe.”
