Columbia Threadneedle Investments appoints new EMEA CEO

Columbia Threadneedle Investments (Columbia Threadneedle) has appointed Nick Ring as Chief Executive Officer, Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA).

Ring also joins the executive leadership team of Ameriprise Financial. Columbia Threadneedle is the global asset management group of Ameriprise Financial. He will start on 23 September 2019, reporting to Ted Truscott.
Ted Truscott (pictured), Global Chief Executive Officer at Columbia Threadneedle, says: “It’s with much pleasure that I welcome Nick back to Columbia Threadneedle as our new EMEA CEO. Nick has an excellent understanding of our business and of the asset management sector more broadly. He brings extensive experience in product, strategy and distribution roles at a time when our industry is evolving to meet the changing needs and aspirations of our clients. I’m very confident that Nick’s technical expertise combined with strong client-focus is the right combination to lead our EMEA business as we strive to strengthen our client relationships and value proposition. He is a strong people leader who understands and embraces the culture of our firm and we are looking forward to working with him again.”
Ring joins Columbia Threadneedle from Jupiter Asset Management where he was Global Head of Distribution. Ring joined Jupiter from Columbia Threadneedle (and its predecessor Threadneedle Investments) where he spent seven years in leadership roles in the product and distribution areas. Prior to joining Threadneedle in 2008, Ring held roles at Northern Trust, KPMG, Gartmore Investment Management and Prudential.
