Marlborough Group makes new multi-asset and wealth management appointment

The Marlborough Group has appointed Nick French to the newly created position of Head of Business Development for Multi-Asset and Wealth Management.

French’s role will be to drive growth for the group’s multi-asset funds and managed portfolio service, which are run by the highly experienced Marlborough Investment Management team, while also helping to develop the proposition in these areas of the business.

French has more than 20 years’ financial services experience and after roles at Zurich and Old Mutual, spent over a decade at Russell Investments, where he was Managing Director, Head of UK Wealth Management. He also sat on the board of the In Partnership adviser network, following its acquisition by Russell Investments.

French left Russell Investments in March 2018 to establish his own business consultancy, launching online tools for financial advisers.

Richard Goodall, Director of Strategy and Business Development for the Marlborough Group, says: “With his extensive knowledge of the asset management industry and his experience running an adviser network, Nick has exactly the skills and pedigree we need to build successful new partnerships with wealth managers and advisers.

“One of our key strengths is the range of skills and experience within the group. As well as investment management, we also have a track record in helping advisers to successfully launch and operate their own funds. As the industry evolves we believe this breadth of resource will become increasingly valuable to the advisers with whom we work in partnership.”

French says: “As the industry continues to evolve, successful advisers will need to develop and adapt their businesses if they’re to prosper. What’s exciting about the Marlborough Group is that alongside the breadth of expertise there’s a strong entrepreneurial culture. It’s a very attractive proposition for advisers looking for a partner to help them thrive and grow.”

The Marlborough Group includes UK-authorised and offshore fund management companies; an investment management business providing discretionary fund management services; and a fund services business, providing Authorised Corporate Director (ACD) and fund hosting services.
