Income manager Blake Hutchins is joining Troy Asset management’s (Troy) UK Equity Income team in October.
At Troy, Hutchins will work alongside Francis Brooke and Hugo Ure on the Trojan Income Fund, Troy Income & Growth Trust, Trojan Ethical Income Fund and various other mandates. On his arrival Blake Hutchins and Hugo Ure will become co-managers of the Trojan Income Fund, alongside Francis Brooke.
Hutchins joins Troy from Investec Asset Management where he was the lead manager responsible for the Investec UK Equity Income Fund, launched in 2015 and co-manager of the Investec Global Quality Equity Income Fund. Prior to that, he was with Columbia Threadneedle where he had managed both retail and institutional assets. Blake began his City career in 2007 working in the UK Equities team at Morley Fund Management (now Aviva Investors). He graduated from the University of Edinburgh with an MA Honours in Economics and Politics. He also holds the Investment Management Certificate and is a CFA Charterholder.
Troy Investment Director Francis Brooke says: “We have seen significant growth in our UK equity income franchise in recent years not only in the Trojan Income Fund, Troy Income & Growth Trust and Trojan Ethical Income Fund but across a number of other income mandates.
“Blake’s high-quality stock picking and risk averse investment style is very complementary to our own. I am delighted to welcome him to Troy and the team.”
